After ten years of teaching etiquette and protocol Karen Hickman, with her nursing background, has developed this trainer’s program specific to the medical/dental arenas.

If you are an etiquette consultant or a health care professional this program may be just what you need to broaden your training repertoire while encouraging and teaching professional skills to health care workers. Due to the interest and need for specific medical etiquette guidelines Karen Hickman has spent many years researching and developing this program. It can help change some of the less than desirable behavior and put a more polished, patient friendly face on staff members in medical and dental practices large and small.

Did you know that nearly one-third of malpractice suits are rooted in bad behavior on the part of staff and/or physicians? Patients may forgive a bad outcome if they feel they have been treated fairly and courteously. This program, when used for new hires and reinforcement of expectations for existing staff, can help diffuse difficult situations and help staff members understand that professional courtesy is a critical skill needed to project a patient friendly atmosphere. Move a good practice into the GREAT category.

* This program has qualified for CEU credit.

This program is divided into four segments with a video introduction from Karen Hickman for each section. Appreciating tight schedules and difficulty in finding large amounts of time for training, this program can be delivered in total or one segment at a time. A minimum of four hours should be allowed for the entire program or an hour for each segment. However, this time can be extended depending on the number of role play exercises used and any breakout sessions that might be beneficial to the group.
